As a social worker, psychotherapist and a child of South Asian immigrants, Farah’s practice is informed by a broad range of clinical, academic and cultural experiences.
Farah is an individual and family therapist with expertise in grief and loss, separation and divorce, trauma, emotional regulation, low self-esteem, anxiety and depression. Farah believes that we can all be resourceful and resilient in the face of adversity. With warmth, empathy and cultural humility, she supports people on their healing journeys.
For 17+ years, Farah has been providing support to families and children undergoing life-changing treatment at The Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto. For over a decade, she has also been an adjunct lecturer with the University of Toronto’s Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work. Farah has volunteered on missions to Ethiopia, India, and Peru, supporting global child health initiatives.
Farah is an avid traveller who’s visited 15 countries and all but one Canadian province. She enjoys walking her dog Mika, watching Marvel movies with her two teenage daughters, and eating spicy food—but not too spicy.
