As a social worker, psychotherapist and a child of South Asian immigrants, Farah’s practice is informed by a broad range of clinical, academic and cultural experiences.
Farah is an individual and family therapist with expertise in grief and loss, separation and divorce, trauma, emotional regulation, low self-esteem, anxiety and depression. Farah believes that we can all be resourceful and resilient in the face of adversity. With warmth, empathy and cultural humility, she supports people on their healing journeys.
For 20+ years, Farah has been providing support to families and children undergoing life-changing treatment at The Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto. For over a decade, she has also been an adjunct lecturer with the University of Toronto’s Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work. Farah has supported global child health initiatives in Ethiopia, India, Peru, Bahamas and Trinidad.
Farah is an avid traveler who’s visited 20 countries and all but one Canadian province. She enjoys outdoor activities with her two daughters, attending concerts with friends and eating spicy food—but not too spicy.
